James Arnold Madden, 72, of Lufkin died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Nacogdoches. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Madden was born December 7, 1944 in Apple Springs, Texas to the late Violet Maxine (Dubose) and James Conley Madden.
Mr. Madden had resided in Lufkin for more than 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Madden worked as a barber for several years then joined the Lufkin Fire Department, where he was a firefighter for more than 20 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ivy Madden of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Tonya Madden of Nacogdoches; brother, Joe Madden, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
