James Lewis Hicks III

Graveside services for James Lewis Hicks III, of Lufkin will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Largent Cemetery with Bishop Ryan Dodge officiating.

Mr. Hicks was born September 4, 1952 in Galveston, Texas to the late June Delores (Huddleston) and James Lewis Hicks, Jr., and died Thursday, May 1, 2025 in Conroe, Texas.

Mr. Hicks spent his career working in the oilfield supply industry, for JM Clipper and Parker, as a Purchasing Agent. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. In his spare time he enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, camping and gardening. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, James Hicks and wife Lindsay of Nacogdoches, Charles Hicks of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jacob Hicks of Lufkin, Holly Hicks and James Hicks, both of Nacogdoches; mother of his children, Tandy Hicks of Lufkin; sister, Laura Ivy of Arkansas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the cemetery.
