James "Ron" Green

Funeral services for James “Ron” Green, 81, of Corrigan will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Corrigan with Brother Gary Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Green was born January 3, 1945 in Pulaski, Tennessee to the late Sara (Abernathy) and Grady Owen Green, and died Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in a local hospital.

Mr. Green had resided in Corrigan for 51 years. He was a sales manager for Nicholson Manufacturing for over 31 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corrigan.

Survivors include his wife, Marilynn Green of Corrigan; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Charles Chandler of Corrigan, Michelle and Bush Smitherman of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Vellarde and Beth of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren and spouses, Heather and Jacobi Bias, Kellsey and Robert Saltzman, Kyle and Sara Chandler, Shelby and Hunter Kliafas, Sara Vellarde, James Vellarde, and Daniel Vellarde; nine great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and John Burke of New Berne, North Carolina, LouAnn and Mark Stebbins of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother and sister-in-law, David Green and Carmen of Santa Fe, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Charles Chandler, Kyle Chandler, Bush Smitherman, Hunter Kliafas, Jacobi Bias and Bryan Vellarde.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gentry Burke, Jim Brock, Charles Cline and Billy Reynolds.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the church prior to the service.
