James Edward Morrison

Graveside services with military honors for James Edward Morrison, 94, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Largent Cemetery with Brother Skipper Eberlan officiating.

Mr. Morrison was born January 23, 1931 in San Bernardino, California to the late Vida Vay (Reynolds) and Lecie W.J. Morrison, and died Thursday, March 13, 2025 in a local nursing home.

James grew up and lived in California for more than 40 years before moving to Etoile, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and he worked for Fidelity as a Surveyor. He enjoyed playing golf and loved to travel with Virginia. James was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Virginia Morrison of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Vicki Morrison of Bend, Oregon; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gene Owen of Reno, Nevada; son, Dan Morrison of Yucaipa, California; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Raymond Davis and Rhonda Wild of Diboll, Randall and Kimmie Davis of Hurricane, Utah; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
