James K. Denum

Funeral services for James K. Denum, 84, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Cross Timbers Cowboy Church with Pastor Ford Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Denum was born December 23, 1935 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Flora (Marshall) and James Grover Denum, and died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Denum was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a lab technician at Texas Highway Department (nowTxDOT) for 42 years. Mr. Denum enjoyed hunting but especially loved fishing. He was a member of the Saturday Bass Anglers from 1986-2005. Mr. Denum was a member of Cross Timbers Cowboy Church.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Gloria (Clark) Denum of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Deidra and Johnny Naron of Pollok; granddaughter and husband, Amber and Josh Parrott of Pollok; grandson and wife, J.C. and Sarah Naron of Alto; great-grandchildren, John Parrott, Alli Parrott, and Jessica Naron; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ann Denum of Lufkin; and a number of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, James Craig Denum.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Haney, Coy Ditsworth, Roy Reynolds, Kip Smith, Mark Hobbs, and Carl Frank.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
