James Richard Davis, Sr.

Memorial services with military honors for James Richard Davis, Sr., 75, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Stanley officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born November 3, 1950 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Wylma Bernice (Lout) and Fred Wallace Davis, Sr., and died Saturday, November 22, 2025 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Postal Service following 30 plus years of employment. He was a member of First Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James, Jr. and Courtney Davis of Lufkin; grandson, James Bryce Davis of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Deidra Davis of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Bo Smith of Diboll; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Wallace Davis, Jr.; and sisters, Joy Davis Smith and Wylma Ruth Chance.
