Memorial services for James Calvin Nerren, 73, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the services. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Nerren was born November 30, 1952 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Edna (Youngblood) and Sam Nerren, and died Saturday, August 29, 2026 in a Tyler hospital.
Mr. Nerren was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from Lufkin Industries after 30 plus years of employment. He loved camping and was a Houston Texans fan. He enjoyed watching all the western shows, especially Gunsmoke. Mr. Nerren was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jessica Nerren of Joshua; daughter-in-law, Tina Nerren of Lufkin; grandchildren, Bethany Nerren, Keilah Nerren, Gabe Nerren, and Amelia Nerren; great-grandson, Kohen Nerren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lou Nell and James Farrell, Nita and Pete Odstrcil, and Emily McGaughey, all of Huntington; brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Carol Nerren of Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charmis Nerren; son, Jerry Jeff Nerren; grandson, Jalen Nerren; and brother, Ronnie Havard.
