Funeral services for James Bronson, 73, of Huntington will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Wesley Matchett officiating. The family will have a private interment.
Mr. Bronson was born May 6, 1944 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Beatrice (Smith) and Ray Bronson, and died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in a local hospital.
Formerly of Vidor, Mr. Bronson had resided in Huntington for eight years. He retired from Global Industries where he was the Chief Engineer on a Lay Barge. Mr. Bronson enjoyed fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Donna Bronson of Huntington; children and their spouses, Joseph and Tess Bronson of Kirbyville, Angelina and Bill Pease of Connecticut, Marshall Bronson, Teana and Paul Morrison, all of Vidor, James and Crystal Bronson of Silsbee, Sabrina Young of Vidor, Michael Bronson of Nashville, Tennessee, and John and Leigh Ann Bronson of Anahuac; 30 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Theresa Hutton of Patterson, Louisiana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Renia and Mark Schlegal of Richmond and Vonnie and Clay Picard of Rayne, Louisiana; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Clay Picard, Mark Schlegal, Rhandall Parker, Jason Carter, Trey Dear, and Richard Hutton.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
