J.A. "Buddy" Millican

Graveside services for J.A. “Buddy” Millican, 85, of Lufkin will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan with Pastor Scott Reed officiating, with eulogy given by Brandon Pope.

Mr. Millican was born April 22, 1936 in Silsbee, Texas to the late Oris K. (Cole) and Cecil E. Millican, and died Friday, November 26, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Millican resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the National Guard and was a Funeral Assistant at Gipson Funeral Home for 54 years and Carroway Funeral Home for more than 15 years. Mr. Millican was a member of LifePoint Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice (Foster) Millican of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly K. and Tony Scroggins of Lufkin; granddaughter and fiancé, Chelsea Lovell and Benito Trevino of Lufkin; nephew and wife, Danny and Lisa Curry of Houston; niece and husband, Brenda and Cy Lockhart of Nashville, Tennessee; close friend, Brandon Pope of Dallas; and numerous longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Millican, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Gene Millican.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
