Funeral services for Idaline Barnes, 90, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Fred Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was born March 1, 1928 in the Redland Community of Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Gertie Dee (Allen) and Otto Henry Davison. She died Friday, July 27, 2018 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mrs. Barnes had resided in the Lufkin/Redland area most her life. Her last employment was working at J.C. Penney’s for ten years. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved to sew, and she made beautiful quilts. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Redland Baptist Church where she formerly taught the Ruth Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Seiko Barnes of Spanaway, Washington; son-in-law, Jim Culver of Center; granddaughter and spouse, Alison and Joshua Bridges of The Woodlands; grandson and spouse, Patrick Culver and Erin Sudduth of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Benjamin Bridges, Lily Bridges, Charlotte Bridges, and Ellis Culver; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine and Mack Humphry of Poplarville, Mississippi, and Dennie and Darvin Dominey of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Kary and Cambria Davison of Valdosta, Georgia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl R. Barnes; and her daughter, Marie Culver.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Barnes, Travis Barnes, Jim Culver, and Joshua Bridges. Honorary pallbearer is Benjamin Bridges.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
