Funeral services for Henry Haskel “Tookie” Morehead, 93, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastview United Pentecostal Church with Reverend David Hunt officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.
Mr. Morehead was born November 5, 1923 in Rocky Hill, Texas to the late Lena Beatrice (Anderson) and Archie Morehead, and died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Morehead resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps at Normandy Beach and crossed the channel into France. He studied drafting and engineering at Angelina College and completed his career at Champion International as a supervisor. Mr. Morehead was a member of Eastview United Pentecostal Church, serving 40 years on the Board of Directors.
Survivors include his wife, Janet (Matthews) Morehead of Lufkin; daughters, Pamela Nation of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and Lane Boulware and husband Clifton of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Jimmy Bush of Center, Brandon Boulware and wife Mamie of Allentown, Patti Murray and husband Chad of Nacogdoches, and Davilynn Comb and husband Renè of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Lauren Boulware, Addison Boulware, Garrett Boulware, Geordon Boulware, all of Allentown, Jackson Murray of Center, Mason Boulware, Kyndle Carrington, Penny Murray, all of Nacogdoches, and Lena Comb of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; brother, LaMorris Morehead and wife Maxine of Rocky Hill; sister, Faye Pollino and husband John of Rocky Hill; sisters-in-law, Hazel Morehead, Jackie Morehead, both of Huntington, and Dell Morehead of Rocky Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phynice Fuller and Myrl McCoy; and brothers, Prentice Morehead, Travis “Boots” Morehead, W.L. “Tot” Morehead, Verble Morehead, and W.J. Morehead.
Pallbearers will be Renè Comb, Clifton Boulware, Brandon Boulware, Chad Murray, Scott Morehead, Chris Johnson, Don Reynolds, and Bill Frizzell.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Eastview United Pentecostal Church, Heritage Hunting Club, and Champion International Coffee Break Club.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
