Helen Joyce (Weaver) Snelson

Funeral services for Helen Joyce (Weaver) Snelson, 86, of Huntington will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Shawnee Prairie Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Forrest and Reverend Jackson Colwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Snelson was born September 17, 1931 in Huntington, Texas to the late Lila Faye (Cryer) and Clint Talmadge Weaver, and died Monday, August 6, 2018 in Kingwood Medical Center.

Mrs. Snelson was a lifelong resident of Huntington. She was a homemaker and was a member of Shawnee Prairie Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Lynn Heidt Snelson of Huntington; daughter, Sharlon Jackson of Leggett; son, Sherman Snelson of Huntington; grandsons, Jason Lynn Snelson of Arkansas and Adam Snelson Jackson of Houston; granddaughters, Angela Dawn Farmer of Huntington, Leah Ann Figgins of Orange, and Rachel Mariah Jackson of Nederland; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Lanell Runnels and husband Mike of Huntington; sister-in-law, LaQuita Weaver of Splendora; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Talmadge.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Weaver, Jr., Ed Snelson, Brandon Figgins, Chris Runnels, Adron Capps, and Jimmy Weaver.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church.
