Funeral services for Hazel B. Ross, 89, of Huntington will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery.
Mrs. Ross was born September 23, 1936 in Jasper, Texas to the late Mary Lee (Williams) and Easome W. Wood, and died Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Huntington.
Hazel B. Ross was a woman whose life radiated love, faith, and kindness. A devoted mother and steadfast Christian, and Lifelong member of Shawnee Church of Christ, she filled every room with warmth and grace. Her days were guided by prayer; she never rose in the morning or laid down at night without first speaking to her Lord. Her faith was the quiet heartbeat of her life, visible in the way she cared for others and found joy in the simple blessings around her.
Hazel loved her flowers and took great pride in tending to her garden, where she found peace and purpose in every bloom. She also had a lifelong passion for collecting dolls—many given to her as gifts over the years, which she treasured deeply as tokens of love and memory.
A talented cook, Hazel was known for her famous biscuits, comforting chicken and rice, and her delicious dressing. No one ever left her home hungry; she made sure every guest was fed, full, and loved before they went on their way.
She was affectionate by nature, always ready with a hug and, often, a sweet kiss on the cheek. Her love for people was genuine and constant, and she never hesitated to make sure others felt it. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and laughter.
Hazel B. Ross was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Her spirit lives on in every flower that blooms, every prayer whispered, and every meal shared among those who were blessed to know her.
