Funeral services for Harold Sloan, 82, of Zavalla will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla with Pastor Louie Lawson and Pastor Albert Hensarling officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Concord Cemetery.
Mr. Sloan was born March 23, 1943 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Bessie Mae (Hurt) and Herman Sloan, and died Thursday, April 17, 2025 in a local hospital.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served as a minister for 30 years, living in Oklahoma City for 38 years prior to moving to Zavalla.
Survivors include his wife, Lynnette Sloan; daughter, Kim Sloan; stepson, Rob Hengemihle and wife Stacy; stepdaughter, Malissa Urcelay and husband Hector; grandchildren, Andrea Perez and husband Joel, Kristin James and husband Matthew, Tony “Bubba” Sloan, Jr., Lacey Batinjani; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Tony Sloan, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Matthew James, Joel Perez, Tony “Bubba” Sloan, Jr., and Donnie Moore.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla.
