Gwendolyn H. Odom

Graveside services with inurnment for Gwendolyn H. Odom, 88, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Dr. Bob Klund officiating.

Gwendolyn H. Odom was born in San Augustine, Texas, the year 1934, to the late D.C. and Georgia Mae Hall. She passed away January 26, 2023 at Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Unit in Lufkin, Texas.

Gwen graduated from high school and after business college she became a dispatcher for Texas Power and Light Co. She worked at the Lufkin office for many years. Later in life she obtained her real estate license and worked with Crown Colony Real Estate.

She was a member of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church when raising her children, where she taught Sunday school and led the Episcopal Youth Group. Years later she joined Believers Bible Church and remained a member until her death.

She was blessed and proud of her two children and delighted to be a loving “Grangie” to her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lavenda Baggett; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Robert Carr; brothers, Sonny (A.E.) Hall and Darrell Hall; sister, Glynda Whigham; grandchildren and spouses, Cayla and Brad, Jessica and Tyson, Chris and Amy, Lacey and Chris, Casey and Derek, Chance and Belinda; precious great-grandchildren, Riley, Cole, Carson, Ali, Ryder, Stella, Seth, and Kai; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Becky Baggett; brother, Lyndol Hall; and husband of 17 years, John T. Odom, Jr.
