Funeral services for Guy Bacon, 94, of Corrigan will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan with Chris Eppler officiating. Interment will follow in the Stryker Cemetery.
Mr. Bacon was born May 1, 1931 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Survoy Bacon and Clista Lela Bacon, and died Monday, January 12, 2026.
Guy worshipped at the Corrigan Church of Christ for the majority of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War alongside his twin brother. After his service, he worked for many years at Bullock Motor Company, where his mechanical skills and work ethic were well known. He later devoted much of his life to the Corrigan-Camden Independent School District, serving on the school board and eventually retiring as Director of Transportation. During those years, Guy was a dedicated supporter of the Corrigan-Camden football team and was always happy to drive to away games, proudly carrying the rolling mascot in the back of his truck to cheer on the players.
In his free time, Guy loved trot-lining on the river, hunting deer and pigs at the lease, and telling tall tales about his many adventures. He passed down his love for classic black-and-white television sitcoms and old western movies to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Guy was known for his exceptional mechanical abilities and his reputation for being able to fix absolutely anything. More importantly, he was always willing to help anyone in need, no matter how he learned a helping hand was required. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence touched many lives.
Guy Bacon will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors include his brother, Ashley “Shorty” Bacon; his children, Randy Bacon and wife Linda Bacon, Ann Ferguson, and Dennis Bacon and wife Connie Bacon; ten grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Emmit, Ralph, Hollis, George, Noah, Lloyd, and Guy’s Twin brother, Kinch; his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann Martin Bacon, whom he married on July 16, 1958; and his son-in-law, Tony Ferguson.
Pallbearers will be Jared Ferguson, Spencer Bynum, Gunny Laubert, Joe Laubert, Jeremy Ferguson, and Guy Randall Bacon.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home prior to the services.
