Gregory Maxwell Cordova

Funeral services for Gregory Maxwell Cordova, 50, of Burke will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Cordova was born September 21, 1968 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Friday, June 14, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mr. Cordova was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and a 1987 graduate of Hudson High School where he played baseball and basketball. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at the lake. Mr. Cordova was a proud father who enjoyed watching his children playing sports and as Jaiden said, “He coached from the stands”. He was a true gentleman who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was dedicated to his family. He loved his family (with all his heart and soul) and friends unconditionally. He was an animal lover and adored his fur baby, “Spot”. Mr. Cordova was a member of the I.A.M. Machinist Union and was employed at Lufkin Industries. He was a lifelong carpenter who enjoyed working with his hands. He was a member of Greater Love Tabernacle.

Survivors include his wife, Barbie (Frankens) Cordova of Burke; daughters, Aliah Cordova and Jaiden Cordova, both of Burke; son, Jaxton Cordova of Burke; mother and stepfather, Leatha Cordova Easley and Thed Easley of Alto; father and stepmother, Larry and Angelia Cordova of Lufkin; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff and Mandy Cordova of Lufkin, Blake Bezanson of Dallas, and Kevin and Lynn Easley of Jasper; sisters and brothers-in-law, Delisa and Johnny Ellington of Nacogdoches, Shawnna and Joe Mettlen of Pollok, and Jacqueline Bryant of Reston, Virginia; parents-in-law, Jack and Barbara Frankens of Burke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tiffany and Chase Alsbrooks, Ashley and Josh Richard, Kellie and Brandon Renfro, and Jaclyn and Jeremy Harper, all of Burke; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucille Lowery; grandad, G.W. Ivy; grandfather, Max Cordova; and MaMaw, Florence DePriest.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cordova, Patrick Strickland, Bryce Cordova, Jason Kollauf, Christopher Burke, Scott Horn, Brian “Doc” Frankens, Josh Richard, Chase Alsbrooks, Jeremy Harper, Brandon Renfro, and Jack Frankens.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jax Cordova.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
