Gloria Nettles Hanson

Funeral services for Gloria Nettles Hanson, 89, of Zavalla will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Zavalla First Baptist Church with Brother Stephen Forrest officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Nettles Cemetery in Livingston.

Mrs. Hanson was born April 11, 1929 in Nederland, Texas to the late Maggie Lee (Brister) and Torvald Taylor Drawhorn, and died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Hanson had resided in Port Arthur for 71 years, prior to moving to Zavalla 18 years ago. She was a seamstress for 13 years, sewing, quilting and crocheting. She also enjoyed painting. Her many hobbies included going bowling, boating, camping, and traveling. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her family was her highest priority. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Zavalla First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Marsha Seabourne and husband Bill of Zavalla, Leesa Stevens and husband Kerry of Port Neches, and Sylvia Nettles of Carrollton; son, Daron Nettles and wife Alison of Livingston; stepdaughter, Laura Huckaby and husband Terry of Katy; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; brother, Obed Drawhorn and wife Pris of Nederland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and father of her children, Walter Nettles, Jr.; son, Russell Nettles; and husband, R.S. Hanson.

Pallbearers will be Chris Seabourne, Clifton English, Donnie Foster, Cody Coburn, Darren East, Adrian Ontiveros, and Lee Teeples.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Seabourne, Lee A. Teeples, and Kerry Stevens.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington.
