Funeral services for Hayden Haskins, 76, of Lufkin will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Shirley, Jerry Fischer, and David Haskins officiating. Masonic rites will be read under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Moyers Cemetery in Henderson.
After a long and courageous 6-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Hayden left this world and went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2018. Hayden was born in Henderson on February 18, 1942 to parents, Bennie and Elizabeth (Harmon) Haskins.
Hayden graduated from Henderson High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University. After service in the Army, he moved to Lufkin and worked for Southwest Color. He saw an opportunity for bringing the family trucking business, Great Western Trucking Company, to Lufkin. After years with the family business, he and his wife, Pam, started Angelina Trucking Co. and Big Truck Alignment.
Hayden is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pamela Jackson Haskins of Lufkin; sons, Glenn Haskins and Bradley Haskins of Lufkin; grandchildren, Whitney Haskins, Shelby Haskins, Alexandra Haskins, Hayden Wayne Haskins; great-grandchildren, Jaceson, Jessie, and Fraya; step-mother, Marie Haskins of Lufkin; sister, Julia Luedtke of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Linda Haskins of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Dixie Haskins of Lufkin, Joe and Rene Haskins of Kingsbury, Jerry and Marilyn Fischer of Lufkin, and Bob and Sid Jackson of Crystal Beach; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Helen Jackson of Lufkin; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Hayden was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Elizabeth Haskins; and brother, Kenneth Haskins.
Pallbearers will be Danny Haskins, Travis Bowen, Don Haskins, Tracey Manley, Bryan Alston, Wes Wood, Steven Haskins, and Christopher Haskins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Byrd, Marcello Brasil, Brian Powell, Chuck Smith, Bill Talbot, and Jimmy Sims.
