Funeral services for Glenda Koonce, 83, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Holder officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.
Mrs. Koonce was born April 13, 1935 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Fannie Mae (Hamler) and David Guy Babcock, and died Sunday, September 16, 2018 at The Joseph House.
Mrs. Koonce resided in Lufkin most her life and retired from the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. She was a member of Redtown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Tommy Koonce of Lufkin; daughter, Lisa Craft and husband Randall of Pollok; sons, Bud Koonce and wife Shirley and Terrell Koonce and Frances Cleveland, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Holly Cryer and husband Ben, Brad Allen, Adam Craft, Ashley Koonce, Hannah Koonce, and Delaney Koonce; great-grandchildren, Kayli Warnasch, Kylee Warnasch, Taylor Allen, Sequoia McKelvey, Grace Madden, and Dakota Madden; sister, Patsy Tippets of Gulfport, Mississippi; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Meagan Koonce; and brothers, Gerald, Harvey and Gary Babcock.
Pallbearers will be Roy Lackey, Jimmy Stark, Gary Stark, Jerry Babcock, Brad Allen, and Bobby Knight.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Joseph House, P.O. Box 150554, Lufkin, Texas 75915.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
