Glenda Baker Hawkins

Glenda Baker Hawkins, 75, of Lufkin, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at her residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Memorial Service and Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. All who wish to attend are welcome.

Mrs. Hawkins was born January 14, 1947 in Laredo, Texas to the late Maria Dora (Santos) and William Baker. She had resided in Lufkin for 49 years and retired from CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial. She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting recipes and cookbooks, reading, traveling, history, genealogy, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Horace “Buddy” Hawkins of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Patti Stuart of Grapevine and Karen and Jason Horton of Lufkin; grandsons, Cody Horton and fiancée Savannah McCarty, Cason Horton, Luke Stuart, and Jack Stuart; great-grandchildren, Copeland, Jude, Koe, and Lucy Kay; sister, Darlla Baker of Round Rock; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Cheryl Baker of Goose Creek, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Linda Kay Hawkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Horton, Cody Horton, Cason Horton, Jeff Stuart, Luke Stuart, and Jack Stuart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, in memory of Glenda Hawkins, 1611 Feagin Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
