Funeral services for Gladys Sue White Stringer, 73, of Huntington will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church with Brother Michael Ray Due and Jimmy Due officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
Sue was born August 12, 1947 in Groveton, Texas to the late Stella Mae (Williams) and M.W. Due, and died Monday, March 8, 2021 in a local hospital.
Sue was a beautician in Jacinto City, Texas for 55 years. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, Blue Bell ice cream, sitting on the porch at the lake drinking coffee, and spending time talking and laughing with her family. She had the most infectious laugh that everyone will remember. Sue loved God and family and had an unwavering love for her grands. She was a true matriarch, the glue that held the family together.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Wayne Stringer of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Matt Dunavant of Mont Belvieu; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amy White of Dayton; son-in-law, Jeff May of Huffman; stepdaughters and son-in-law, Deadra Stringer of Huntington and Tammy and Hardy Brock of Corrigan; stepson and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Amy Stringer of Huntington; grandchildren, Wilder Dunavant, Matthew Dunavant, Rheagyn Mason, Chace White, Joshua White, Justin White, Brayden Ponder, Makynzie White, Kayla May, Ashton Johnson, Chaney Jo Johnson, Skyler Sumrall, Parker Combs, Amy Brock, Chad Brock, Logan Morris, Addy Brooke Stringer, Crusoe Stringer, and Mylie Stringer; numerous great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Merron “Uncle Mann” and Betty Jo Due; sisters, Shirley Smith Hambrick, Jo Birdsong, and Linda Sheridan; and numerous well-loved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James White; daughter, Kelli White May; and brothers, Charles Ray Due and Elbert James Due.
Pallbearers will be Chace White, Justin White, Joshua White, Matthew Dunavant, Wilder Dunavant, Brayden Ponder, Nick Mason, and Jeff May.
Honorary pallbearers will be Koyte Smith, Keith Ray Crofford, Steve Knight, Michael Wayne Due, Clayton Smith, Dale Fairchild, Ashton Johnson, Bradley Stringer, Scott Birdsong, Ray Bagwell, and Matt Dunavant.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the church prior to the services.
