Funeral services for Gladys Aylene Conn, 81, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Leon Wallace and Brother Johnny Perry officiating. Interment will follow the services.
Mrs. Conn was born January 19, 1936 in Union, Mississippi to the late Daisy (Dorman) and Marvin Goforth, and died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in a local hospice facility. She had resided in Lufkin for 41 years and had been a Teacher’s Aide for Lufkin ISD. Mrs. Conn was a member of Eastview United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Carnley and husband Mark of Diboll; granddaughter, Stephanie Barnett and husband Jonathan of Diboll; great-granddaughters, Michaela Wagner, Meghan Wagner, Madison Wagner, and Makena Barnett, all of Diboll; sister, Lorene Dean of Ellisville, Mississippi; and a number of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Ovett Conn.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
