Gilmore Franklin Cox

Graveside services for Gilmore Franklin Cox, 63, of Lufkin will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating.

Mr. Cox was born March 7, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Marye Evelyn (Hubbard) and Gilmore “Cotton” Cox, and died Monday, February 13, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Cox was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and worked in the oil field. He was adventurous and loved a good party. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and flying in his glider airplane (until he crashed it).

Survivors include his sister, Lori Knutson; nieces and spouses, Heather Love, Melanie and Anthony Buster, Casie and Garrett Nugent, Tara Williams, Sunny and James Jones, and Taylor Knutson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deidra Kitchens.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the services.
