Gerardo Terrones Olivares

August 15, 1944 — June 26, 2024

Mass of Christian Burial for Gerardo Terrones Olivares, 79, of Diboll will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Luis F. Arroyave officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Olivares was born August 15, 1944 in Mexico to Guadalupe (Terrones) and Jose Olivares, and died Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at his residence.

Gerardo married the love of his life October 21, 1972, residing in West Texas prior to moving to Diboll. He worked as a mill wright at Georgia Pacific, retiring after 35 years. He was a master fabricator. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them and was proud to be a citizen of the United States of America.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Eugenia Jimenez Olivares; children and their spouses, Gerard and Patricia Olivares, Harvey and Candy Olivares, Beatrice and Raul Orta, Sonya and Ronald Fuentes; grandchildren, Juan A. Cruz, Gerard R. Olivares, Jr., Delilah M. Olivares, Makenzie M. Olivares, Aramis R. Olivares, Ezra I. Olivares, Eugenia Duran, Jessica Puebla, Eberardo Puebla, Lilia Puebla, Chloe C. Fuentes, Cristian E. De La Cruz and wife Lety, Daniel E. Torres and wife Angelica; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Manuel Olivares and wife Maria; sisters, Maria Elena Torres and Anita Reyes; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia Lou Rodriguez; son, Felix R. Rodriguez; grandson, Arturo Puebla; and sisters, Martha Martinez, Elisa Alvarado, Juanita Gonzales; and brothers, Jesse Olivares and Ramon Olivares.

Pallbearers will be Daniel E. Torres, Cristian E. De La Cruz, Gerard R. Olivares, Aramis R. Olivares, Eberardo T. Puebla, and Juan A. Cruz II.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
