Graveside services for George Mull, 72, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Lufkin with Brother D.R. McNaughton and Brother John Harvey officiating.
Mr. Mull was born May 16, 1947 in San Augustine, Texas to the late Ruth (Ponder) and George Clarence Mull, and died Friday, September 6, 2019 in a local hospital.
Mr. Mull resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was known as “Shoe- Shine” at Thurman’s Barber Shop for many years and finished his career at the Village Cutting Room. He was also known as “Candyman George” and his Worther’s Originals. Mr. Mull loved the Lord and was faithful to Jesus through Harborlight Church, Lighthouse of Prayer, and was a charter member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Survivors include cousin, Ernest Mills of San Augustine; special friend and caretaker, Ike and Taunya Williams of Lufkin; friends, John and Kathy Harvey, D.R. and Dee McNaughton, all of Lufkin, Nona Gardner of Garrison, Joy McClure, Hal Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Taylor, all of Lufkin; and special friend, “Mr. Ray”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charlie Oscar Mull and Willie Maurice Mull.
Pallbearers will be his friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Carroway Funeral Home.
