Funeral services for Gary Willard Spencer, 73, of Pollok will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Forrest officiating. Cremation arrangements will follow under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Spencer was born October 29, 1952, in Lufkin, Texas to the late John Willard Spencer and Dorothy Marie O’Quinn Spencer, and passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026 in a local hospital.
A lifelong resident of Pollok, Gary dedicated many years of service to the Lufkin State Supported Living Center before retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Gary found joy in the simple things in life—fishing, hunting, tending his garden, caring for his chickens, spending time outdoors, and processing meat. Above all else, he treasured his family and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Gary will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of the outdoors, his dedication to his family, and the friendships he built throughout his life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Holly Spencer; children and spouses, Zachary Spencer, Nicholas and Misty Spencer, Lacey Spencer, Jessica New, Tyson and Carrie Ogden Spencer; his cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Jace Spencer, Chandler and Calli Spencer, Carter Anderson, Luke Spencer, Lane and Logan Spencer, Shon Falcon, John Falcon, Charleigh Spencer, Trent Polk, Kadynce Spencer, Logan Dennis; great-grandson, Kylan Polk; sister and brother-in-law, Madelen and Benny Franco; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Kathy Spencer; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Willard and Dorothy Marie O’Quinn Spencer; his daughter, Aimee Marie Spencer; and brother, John Paul Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Hughes, Leeland Sanford, Danny Ray Smith, Johnny Grimes, Ron Conley, Frank Fredregill, Jared Davis, and Justin Davis.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
