Funeral services for Gare Dean Havard, 45, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Clawson Assembly of God Church with Pastor Kevin Poage and Pastor Joshua Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Gare Dean was born February 3, 1973 in Tarrant County, Texas to “Sally” Jane (Renfro) Havard and the late Delbert Hershell Havard, and died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in a hospital in Tyler.
Gare Dean worked in the Forestry Industry clearing land, which was his passion. Always happy with a smile on his face, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed football and also liked to cook. Gare Dean was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include his mother, “Sally” Jane Havard of Lufkin; wife, Amber Crow Havard; daughter, Erika Nicole Havard; son, Johnathan Hershell Havard; daughter, Robin Machele Havard; stepson, Herbert Welch, Jr.; stepdaughter, Haley Nicole Welch; grandchildren, Cecily Welch and Bryan Welch; sisters, Angela Havard Curry and husband James Curry of Hillister and Vicky Wade Copley of Diboll; nieces and nephews, Roy Lynn Wade, Jr, Justin Glynn Wade, Jayme LaDawn Curry Leasman, Brandon Scott Curry, Angela LaNae Curry, and Andria ReNae Curry; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Hershell Havard; and brother-in-law, Joel Stephan Copley.
Pallbearers will be Justin Glynn Wade, Cody Suggs, Roy Lynn Wade, Jr., Brandon Scott Curry, Michael Shayne Dickerson, Joe Russell Renfro, Herbert Welch, Jr., and Laramy Renfro.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Stelly and Roy Lynn Wade, Sr.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Carroway Funeral Home.
