A Celebration of Life for Frankie Beth Haygood Read, 93, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mallori Rawls, Pastor Michael Rawls and Kearney Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Read was born June 24, 1932 in Lufkin, Texas, to the late William Robertus “Bert” Haygood and Martha Elizabeth Worthy Haygood, and went to her Heavenly Homecoming Celebration Friday, November 21, 2025. She was welcomed by her husband, Charles R. Read; her parents and sisters; in-laws; lifelong friends, Linwood and Earnistine Trahan, Bill Neal; special niece, Robbie and Aurther Warren, Tom Holland, Jerry Warren and Bill Simpson.
Frankie started out working at S&T Groceries at Two-Point during high school. She then worked at Curtis Swain Insurance located in the Perry Brothers Building. After taking time to start a family, she worked at other local businesses and then helped with starting American Equitable Life Insurance. After American Equitable was sold, she began working for A. G. Edwards where she retired from after several years. After Charles’ passing, she moved into PineCrest Retirement Center where she rekindled many friendships made in her earlier life and continued with many lifelong friends that had moved to PineCrest too.
During her lifetime, Frankie was involved in The Pilot Club of Lufkin, she volunteered at CISC, baked cookies and cakes for The Joseph House and participated in several boards with First Church of the Nazarene and CISC.
Frankie is survived by her two daughters, Charla Read-Richardson and Lori Ann Read-Feldpausch; grandchildren, Charles Ryan Richardson, Ross and Shae Richardson, Johnathan and Kelsey Feldpausch and Brandon Feldpausch; great-grandchildren Cody Richardson, Clayton Richardson, Kutter Richardson, Baylin Feldpausch, Brigham Feldpausch; and her one and only namesake great-granddaughter, Frankie Brooke Feldpausch.
She also leaves behind her friend from 8th grade, Mary Lynn Neal; longtime friends, Darceille Warren and Faye Nell Holland; and her Lunch Bunch Group that have met quarterly for 30 years, Elsie Simpson, Margaret Purke, Theresa Stokes, Sandy Scott, Lynn Russell, and Joyce Johnson. She also leaves behind her nephew, Raymond Havard; two of her best friends, Kearney Harris and Natanya Whitaker; and all the staff, nurses, caretakers and everyone else at PineCrest.
Family to go before her are husband, Charles Robert Read; her parents, William Robertus “Bert” Haygood and Martha Elizabeth Worthy Haygood; in-laws, Perry Read and Dora Morgan Read; her sisters, Stella Havard, Flois Hampton, Mildred Williamson, Drunell Young; a brother, Ray Haygood, who passed in childhood; two brothers, Riley Haygood and Roy Haygood. The multitude of friends mentioned above and those not mentioned. Rest assured she loved everyone.
Pallbearers will be Ross Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Johnathan Feldpausch, Brandon Read Feldpausch, Cody Richardson, Clayton Richardson, and Kutter Richardson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Raymond Havard.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
