Funeral services for Frances Jewell Proctor, 96, of Corrigan will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Barnum First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Proctor was born December 12, 1929 in St. John, Kansas to the late Mattie (Harris) and Henry A. Ives, and passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Mrs. Proctor had resided in Corrigan for 31 years. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing the piano, often filling her home and church with beautiful music. Mrs. Proctor enjoyed reading and could be found immersed in a good book, and she enjoyed challenging herself with puzzles that kept her mind sharp. She was a member of Barnum First Baptist Church where she shared her gift of music by playing the piano for many years. Her gift and musical legacy will be remembered, far into the future by her “JOY OF MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP” endowed through Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan. Frances rewarded all those who knew her, with her beautiful Piano and Organ music, for an incredible nine plus decades.
She was truly the Jewell of our lives, and especially for her Church, and we are all grateful for her wisdom, her strength and for the beauty and grace she brought into our homes and our family for so many years. Peace be with her now, and God rest her beautiful soul. Amen
