Funeral services for Fern Pevoteaux, 98, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carl Lundberg officiating, with eulogy given by Mike Middleton. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Pevoteaux was born March 9, 1920 in Emad, Louisiana to the late Callie (Shows) and Joseph Sisson, and died Sunday, December 30, 2018 in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Pevoteaux had resided in Lufkin for over 35 years. She retired from Sugar Land ISD where she worked in the cafeteria. Mrs. Pevoteaux enjoyed embroidering and crocheting. She was a member of Homer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim “Buddy” and Bobbie Nan Middleton of Houston; daughter, Norma G. Griffin of Homer; grandchildren and spouses, Michael J. and Cammie Middleton of Nashville, Tennessee, Andrea and Jay Dugat of Cypress, and Shelia Williams of Nacogdoches; sister, Jo Fenley of Weatherford; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Jay Dugat, Marlin Richardson, Billy Porter, Denny Porter, Tareq Fasheh, and Joe Ray Noel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fielder Memorial Cemetery Association, 9472 FM 326, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.
