Fairchild Teal

Memorial services for Fairchild Teal, 88, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop M.E. Lyons officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Ms. Teal was born June 25, 1935 in Huntington, Texas to the late Rosie (Garner) and Nash Teal, Sr., and died Sunday, April 7, 2024 in a local nursing home.

Ms. Teal attended Dunbar High School and was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She was a very family-oriented person and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an active lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Beatrice Johnigan of Dallas, Sharlotte Teal, Adrienne Teal, both of Lufkin, and Pamala Teal Nnaji of Dallas; son, Russell Teal of Dallas; daughter, Jessica Teal of Lufkin; aunt, Areice Garner; uncle, OLee Garner; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Wilbert Teal of Lufkin; sister, Doris Watson of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Barbara Teal, Genevia Teal, and Arender Teal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Damien Johnigan; brothers, Henry Teal, Wookerson Teal, Troy Teal, Sr., Hollis Teal, Tommie Teal, Sr., Nash Teal, Jr., and Billy Ray Teal; and sisters, Lou Eva Garner and Quely Johnson.
