Funeral services for Eva Lee Stringer Bell, 86, of Corrigan will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Phillip Corbett and Brother Marty Thompson officiating. Order of the Eastern Star graveside services by Corrigan Chapter #631 which is now affiliated with the Groveton Chapter #1035 will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Bell was born June 23, 1939 in Camden, Texas to the late Eva Childree Stringer and Henry Taylor Stringer, and went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Eva Lee graduated from Chester High School in 1957 as Salutatorian. That same year she went on and married “Bad Boy, Bad Boy” Oscar Bell. They had four children, Kat, Beverly, Bo, and Beep.
Eva Lee later was employed by the Corrigan-Camden School District in the cafeteria and remained there for over 30 years. She loved to cook and love on all the kids as well as the teachers. Eva Lee made wedding and birthday cakes for most of the surrounding community for years. If you ever had the privilege to meet her, you were her friend. She was dearly loved by so many, but no doubt she loved all people with her whole heart. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Corrigan Chapter #631 which is now affiliated with the Groveton Chapter #1035.
Eva Lee was a woman of Christian faith, and her faith could move mountains. She loved the Lord, her church, and her church family was her family. She was a member and true servant in her church, Corrigan First Assembly of God for over 40 years. Eva Lee was a strong prayer warrior and loved to witness to others every chance she got and sing and praise to the Lord. She will be remembered for her nurturing and loving heart.
Survivors include her children, Kathleen Hudgens of Corrigan, Bo Bell and wife Elisha of Corrigan, Beverly Hayes and husband Rickey of Lufkin; grandchildren, Taylor Hudgens, Jackson Hayes and fiancé Lee Ann, Mitch Bell and wife Candace and their girls, Annalee, Addelyn, and Alora, Blake Bell and wife Lexi and their boys, Banks, Baylor, and Bentley, Chelsea Franklin and husband Sheannon and their boys, Cash, Chance, Cai, and Bodhi; brother-in-law, James Robert Willson; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Marlene; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother and daddy, Taylor Stringer and Eva Stringer "Strang"; husband, Oscar Bell; daughter, Belinda “Beep” Bell; sisters, Peggy and Mary Taylor; and brother, Sammy.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Bell, Blake Bell, Jackson Hayes, Taylor Hudgens, Jimmy Willson, Stevie Willson, Thomas Shirley, and Cash Platt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chance Johnson, Bodhi and Cai Franklin, Annalee, Addelyn, and Alora Bell, Banks, Baylor, and Bentley Bell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corrigan First Assembly of God Church, 1700 N. Home Street, Corrigan, Texas 75939.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
