Emo Jean Walters

Funeral services for Emo Jean Walters, 91, of Huntington will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Pastor Bob Killam officiating. Interment will follow in Shofner Cemetery.

Mrs. Walters was born April 5, 1932 in the Ora Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Callie (McClure) and Loy Shofner, and died Monday, February 5, 2024 in a Beaumont hospital. She retired as an office manager from Brookshire Brothers.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Howard Byrd of Huntington, Scottie and Bob Killam, and Diedra and Darrell Lowe, all of Lumberton; grandchildren and spouses, Kim Johnson and fiancé Marcus Kato of Nacogdoches, Matt Byrd of Dallas, Nathan Byrd and partner Buddy Caperton of Seattle, Washington, Dustin and Leslie Stewart of Cedar Creek, Meagan and Travis Hogg of Lumberton, Jessica and Patrick Conn of Timpson, Dewilyn Lowe and partner Alex Payson of Austin, Lindsey and J.T. Clanton of Orange; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lola and Jeff Hanchey of Huntington; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Prentiss Walters; brothers, Rayford Harrison and Glenn Harrison; and sisters, Billie Jean Nerren, Beth Murphy, and Norene Berry.

Pallbearers will be Matt Byrd, Nathan Byrd, Dustin Stewart, Travis Hogg, J.T. Clanton, Howard Byrd, and Darrell Lowe.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the services.
