Emerchel Ann Pate

Funeral services for Emerchel Ann Pate, 83, of Cypress, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Congregational Church with The Reverend Randall K. Green and M. Todd Stracener officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barnum.

Mrs. Pate was born February 13, 1943 in Camp Ruby, Texas to the late Rillia Leanna (Moore) and Virgil A. Collins, and died Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Houston.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chester High School Purple and Gold Scholarship in Mrs. Pate’s honor. They may be mailed to Chester ISD-Scholarship Fund, c/o Superintendent-Cory Hines at 273 Yellowjacket Drive, Chester, Texas 75936.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
