Elvin was also a proud member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing and most of all, hunting with over 45 years spent as a member of the Sulphur Creek Hunting Club. Elvin passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, holding the hand of his wife, his one true love.
The family wanted to make special mention of the angels at Heart to Heart Hospice, who made this peaceful transition possible.
Elvin was a storyteller and was known for his many sayings, some of which were inappropriate, but one of his favorites that he used to end most of his phone calls with is what we’ll close with - “I’ll let you get back to your rat killin”.
