Elray Woods

Funeral services for Elray Woods, 76, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Stanley officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Woods was born January 8, 1943 in San Augustine County, Texas to the late Minnie Ardelia (Carrico) and Bartie Thomas Woods, and died Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence. He retired as a manager from Pilgrim’s Pride (Pluss-Tex Poultry when he started) and was a part owner of Jim Ann’s Club. Mr. Woods was a good hearted, loving family man. He was a good friend to all and he cared deeply for all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Rae Lynn Woods of Lufkin; son, Brian Woods of Lufkin; daughter, Melony Woods of Lufkin; stepdaughters, Kristen Jones of San Antonio and Kati Fagan of Bardstown, Kentucky; grandchildren, Wade, Eric, Kate, Paige, Austin, Tristan, Kyren, and Weston; three great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Smith of Hemphill; brothers, Bartie “T” Woods of Tyler and Elton Woods of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eunice Butler, Atrell Sheffield, Imogene Whitton, Charlcie Carter, and Billie Nixon; and brother, Mike Woods.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the services.
