Graveside services for Ellen Miller Shelton, 67, of Nacogdoches will be held Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Carmona Cemetery with Brother John McGuire officiating.

Ms. Shelton was born February 13, 1959 in Port Jefferson, New York to Barbara (Bahringer) and Milton Ray Miller, Sr., and died Thursday, September 10, 2026 in Nacogdoches.

She retired from Nacogdoches County as a paramedic. She loved gardening and was a member of First Baptist Church Garrison. Ms. Shelton was a devoted sister and Nae Nae, and the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. There was never a day that went by that we weren’t blessed because of you. I know you wondered sometimes if anyone actually appreciated the effort you made on all the uphill climbs. You made this world a better place. The people who were lucky enough to be in your life were the ones who got to see that you were a very special person with a truly gifted soul.

Survivors include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathie (her identical twin) and John Repp of Huntington, Debra and Ronnie Smith, Loraine J. Miller, all of Carthage, and Mary and Sheldon Ellis of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton, Jr. and Moe Miller of Eunice, Louisiana, Robert and Theresa Miller of Gilmer, Clarence and Becky Pierce, and Johnny Pierce, all of Kiln, Mississippi; nephews and nieces, Bryan, Kevin, Teddy, Ira, Misty, Jenna, Billy Joe, and Shawn; and her best friend, Reneé Faulkner of Nacogdoches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton R. Miller and Joy, Barbara and Toby Toburen; and nephews, Brandon Shiflet and Cody Hill Miller.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Repp and Ronnie Smith.
