Elizabeth Hill

Memorial services for Elizabeth Hill, 80, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chestnut Drive Baptist Church with Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hill was born February 18, 1937 in Duluth, Georgia to the late Lena (Brock) and Edward Hurtzel. She departed this world Saturday, February 10, 2018 to be with the Lord.

Mrs. Hill loved fishing and spending time with her husband and friends, Linda House and Sharon Quinn. She also loved spending time with her daughters, Kendra Mathews-Thomas and Nikki Gardner. Mrs. Hill always loved to be around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Chestnut Drive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond W. Hill of Lufkin; daughters, Kendra Mathews-Thomas and husband Raymond of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Nikki Gardner of Lufkin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Franklin of Atlanta, Georgia; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Edward Hurtzel.
