Elenor "Tweeta" Hancock

September 22, 1936 — February 7, 2018

Funeral services for Elenor “Tweeta” Hancock, 81, of Huntington will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Huntington First Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Ms. Hancock was born September 22, 1936 in Shelby County, Texas to the late Ezie Rae (Davis) and Wade Eron Kirkland, and died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at her home in Huntington.

Ms. Hancock resided in Huntington most of her life. She retired from Boot’s Furniture, where she was a secretary for many years. Ms. Hancock loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and nothing made her happier than being with family as much as possible. She also loved her church and church family and spent most of her life at Huntington First Baptist Church where she loved studying and reading the Word. She taught Sunday school for many years and raised her children to know the Lord.

Some of her favorite pastimes were fishing (she was good at it), reading (all she could get her hands on), and listening to Willie Nelson. Anytime you came to her house to visit you could always watch The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, or Andy Griffith.

Survivors include her sons, Phillip Hancock and his friend Julie Wiley of Flint and Keith Hancock of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Ronnie Lambert of Huntington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Morehead of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jo Ruth Wilkerson.

Pallbearers will be Wade Lambert, Weston Lambert, Aric Hancock, Ty Hancock, Sloan Page, and George Parr.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
