Eleanor Arcibar Phillips

Funeral services for Eleanor Arcibar Phillips, 91, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Gary Trevino officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Mrs. Phillips was born December 23, 1929 in San Patricio, Texas to the late Josefa (Guerrero) and Silviano Arcibar, and died Sunday, May 30, 2021 in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Phillips lived in San Antonio before moving to Lufkin. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She was a devoted career military wife. Mrs. Phillips attended St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Len and Becky Phillips of Lufkin; grandchildren, Joshua Rhoden, Natalie Dettmann, Michael Phillips; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Rhoden, Madilynn Dettmann, Emitt Dettmann, sister, Virginia Gay of Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 70 years, James Floyd Phillips; and son, James Floyd Phillips, Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2118 Lowry Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
