Funeral services for Edward Elmer Slaughter, Sr., 68, of Kirbyville, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Burl McBride III officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Slaughter was born October 30, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Daisy Ruth (Brogdon) and Floyd Ray Slaughter, and died Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in a hospice facility in Houston, Texas.
Edward lived in Kirbyville most of his life and worked for Brookshire Brothers for more than 30 years, retiring as a Manager. He then went to work for another 24 years for Gann Service Company. He was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. He loved classic cars, listening to music, and watching movies.
Survivors include his children, Chris Cole Slaughter and wife Amanda of Moody, Skye Rowland and spouse Vanessa of Huntington, Thorton Taylor Slaughter of Katy, Trenton Randall Slaughter of Kirbyville, Eddie Elmer Slaughter, Jr. of Katy; brother, James Slaughter and wife Angela of Lufkin; sisters, Sue Glover and husband Mitchell of Lufkin, Patricia Ann Husband of Huntington; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bennie Ray Slaughter and Bobby Lynn Slaughter.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service.
