Funeral services for Edward Douglas Hollis, 67, of Huntington will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Lester McAdams officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Largent Cemetery.
Mr. Hollis was born July 5, 1951 in Houston, Texas to the late Genevieve (Webb) and E.D. Hollis, and died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from GATX Corp. in Houston. Mr. Hollis was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and David Crain of Huntington, Linda and Keith Batson of Deer Park; brothers, James Hollis and Curtis Hollis, both of Zavalla; special niece, Michelle Scott and husband Cody; special great-niece, Isabelle Scott; and a number of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Teresa (Dunn) Hollis.
Pallbearers will be Kim Reynolds, Cody Scott, Scott Morehead and Fred Flournoy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
