Edna Lois "Baby" Love

Visitation for Edna Lois “Baby” Love will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin, Texas. The memorial service will be held directly after at 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Grimes Cemetery.

Edna Lois “Baby” Love passed away on January 1, 2025, at her home in Highlands, Texas. She was born on August 27, 1947, in Lufkin, Texas.  Edna took great joy in taking care of her loved ones, gardening, and traveling. She was a successful businesswoman, running Love’s Marina along the San Jacinto River for years with her husband, Jim. She fiercely protected those she loved and loved feeding everyone she met. She overcame many things in her life and always welcomed a home full of people. She spent most of her later life in Highlands, Texas with Jim and Pappy. They made sure that Pappy had his glass of sweet tea and Blue Bell each and every day. She loved to pass her knowledge down and spent many hours teaching her sons and granddaughters how to garden, can vegetables, and make jelly.

She is survived by children, Curtis Griffin (Lisa), and Kevin Griffin (Karen); grandchildren, Stacy Nunez (Peter), Kristin Allen (Colton), Hannah Griffin (Kody); great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Carson, Margaret Kate, and Griffin; sister, Judy Grimes. She also leaves behind her devoted canine companion Pappy.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Grimes, Bronson Grimes, Rommel Briseno, Aaron Davis, Darrell Davis, Terry Davis, Peter Nunez, Kelvin Singleton, Kody Kohnen, and Colton Allen.

We are at peace knowing that she is no longer in pain and is reunited with her husband and parents. We know they are celebrating big now in Heaven and cooking a feast big enough for all the angels.
