E. E. "Buzz" Patrick

A Celebration of Life for E.E. “Buzz” Patrick, 81 of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Patrick was born October 21, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Allie Vee (Adams) and Ernest Elmer Patrick, Sr., and died Sunday, May 17, 2026 in Lufkin, Texas.

Ernest grew up in Port Arthur where he went to school and church with Karen Tansil. They had such fun from the beginning of their lives together, were married on August 29, 1965 and spent 61 wonderful, loving years as partners in life. Buzz graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lamar University, and attained his master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as an OV10 Bronco Pilot, earning his wings in Big Spring, Texas, serving in Vietnam from 1971-1972, and was a Pilot Instructor from 1972-1978. Buzz loved flying out of our Lufkin airport and was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association. Buzz worked for Temple Inland for 15 years as an Engineer and was a member of Lufkin First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Karen F. Patrick of Lufkin; daughter, Allison M. Patrick; sisters, Tina Kelly Salem and Terry Gay Salem; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Patrick, Sr.; mother, Allie Vee Patrick Salem; and sister, Patricia Vee Patrick Cunningham.
