Funeral services for Dr. Doyle Haynes, 75, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cody Moree and Brother Doug Jones officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Dr. Haynes was born March 27, 1950 in Marshall, Texas to the late Eva Rita (Johnson) and Edwin “Dick” Haynes, and died after a long illness Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at his residence.

Dr. Haynes graduated from Carthage High School in 1968 where he was co-captain of the Carthage Bulldogs football team. In 1971 he completed his studies as an honor student at University of Texas and moved forward to University of Texas Medical School in Houston, graduating at the age of 24. He finished his internship in Houston and was board certified in Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Haynes worked in numerous cities in Texas ERs for 38 years, most of those years in Lufkin. For 12 years he practiced in Lufkin as a PCP, enjoying his patients from the Lufkin area.

Dr. Haynes was an active member of LifePoint Church in Hudson and especially enjoyed his Adult Men’s Sunday School class.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda (Jones) Haynes; son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Meagan Lawrence of Lufkin; daughters, Jennifer Parker and Shelly Havard, both of Lufkin; grandchildren, Hunter and Tyler Parker, Jacob Havard, Kaylee and Neal Strban, Marley Lawrence and Dwyatt Patrick, Ashlyn and Emily Parrish, Abby Robertson, Kaelle and Jacob Thornton, all of Lufkin, Kacie and Dedan Egan of Reklaw, Austin Jordan of Cushing, and Mallorie Payne of Sulphur, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Kori Jo and Kolbe Egan, Keaton and Harlyn Parker, Brailyn Payne, Bryli Hooks, Brynlee Collins, Anderson Havard, Kamdyn Lawrence, Raymond Strban, and Riley Lawson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Bill Hammons of Carthage, Rita Morrow of Henderson, Judy and Keith Carrell, Angie and Richard Ivy, all of Huntington, Carol Mullikin of Katy, and Doug and Lisa Jones of Bryan; nieces, Rachel Hammons, Chrissy Morrow, Aubrey and Sophie Bromley; and numerous other relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Lawrence, Hunter Parker, Jacob Havard, Dillon Morrow, Bubba Warner, Neal Strban, and Dwight Patrick.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
