Dorothy M. Brown

Funeral services for Dorothy M. Brown, 88, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Slover officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Ms. Brown was born July 24, 1930 in Conroe, Texas to the late Lela Olean (Stovall) and Jessie James Foster, and died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in Trinity.

Ms. Brown had resided in Houston prior to living in Lufkin, where she was a Medical Secretary for Dr. R. B. Wilson for 25 years. She was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and had an unending faith. She spent a great deal of her time being involved with anything she could do to serve and honor her Lord. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She had a sweet, kind soul and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Brown attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, James Allen Brown and wife Crystal of Houston and Michael Eugene Brown and wife Sandra of Trinity; grandson, Johnathan Brown; granddaughter, Tristan Wacker; great-grandsons, Malakai Brown and Kingston Johnson; great-granddaughter, Hailey Brown; sister, Gladys Marie Cable; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Venisa Diane Brown; grandsons, Michael Brown, Jr. and Kevin Brown; and sisters, Lois Odessa Benge and Jessie Elma Benge.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service.
