Doris Ann Rodgers

Doris Ann Rodgers, 84, of Lufkin died Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in a local hospice facility. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rodgers was born March 17, 1940 in the Norwood Community of San Augustine County, Texas to the late Jimmie Mae (Crosby) and Odell Drew Steptoe. She retired from Hudson ISD where she was a bus driver for many years.

Mrs. Rodgers was a stroke survivor of over 30 years. She was strong-willed enough to beat the odds and live a wonderful life. She loved her family and spent as much time with them as she could. She was loving, trusting, and Godfearing. She lived a Christlike life, helping all those around her that she could. She would never turn her back on anyone and never met a stranger. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Bethlehem Global Methodist Church.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Misty Olson Robles and husband Jacob; great-granddaughters, October Olson and Daliza Robles; sister, Carolyn Brookshire; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Donna Steptoe; sister-in-law, Doris Jean Rodgers; nephew and wife, David and Jennifer Steptoe; and a number of other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie Rodgers; son, Kenneth Rodgers; brother, Larry Steptoe; and brother-in-law, Ray Brookshire.
