Funeral services for Doris Marcellyn McClung, 92, of Lufkin will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roger Fancher officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll.
Mrs. McClung was born August 11, 1930 in Bronson, Texas to the late Ellie “Freddie” (Neely) and Amidee Jeans, and died Friday, May 19, 2023 in a local hospice facility.
Doris had resided in Lufkin for more than 50 years. She was Vice President of Lufkin National Bank, now Regions Bank, and retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time on the lake with her husband and family for many years. She was a dearly loved “Meme” by all her grandchildren, great-grands, and great-great-grands. She was a member of the Pilot Club of Lufkin for several years and Treasurer of Lovelady Baptist Church. She will be missed by her family on earth, but is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus, her husband, and many other members of our loving family. Doris was a member of Bald Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Kimble and husband Reagan, Cindy Nash, all of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Marcy and Mike Gore, Glen and Julie Kimble, Jennifer and Roger Morgan, Ann McMurry; great-grandchildren, Austin and Peyton Kimble, Travis and Jake Lynch, Ashton and Destiny McMurry, Zane McMurry, Tristain Morgan, Emily and Clara Gore, Kalin McClung, Lauren, Hailey, and Heather Burns; great-great-granddaughters, Olivia Morgan and Nevaeh McMurry; sister-in-law, Emily Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; caregiver, Rhonda Evitt; along with numerous special friends from her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnie McClung; son, Johnie K. McClung; granddaughter, Windi McClung; great-grandson, Brent Cade Morgan; great-granddaughter, Amy Burns; sister, Vera Sonnier; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Alline Jeans, Jack and Mary Lou Jeans, Donald Jeans; and brother-in-law, Wilburn Harris.
Pallbearers will be Ashton McMurry, Zane McMurry, Glen Kimble, Mike Gore, Austin Kimble, and Travis Lynch.
The family would like to express special thanks to the loving staff at Hospice in the Pines.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home.
