Doris Lavonne Justice, 90, of Cameron, Texas died Thursday June 23, 2022 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas surrounded by family and friends.
Lavonne was born October 15, 1931 in Labette County, Kansas to Howard and Mae (Webb) Rude. Her family resided on the family farm in Oswego, Kansas.
Lavonne worked various jobs. She was an employee for West Brothers department store corporate office in DeRidder, Louisiana for 10 years.
Lavonne met her love, Oren W. Justice Jr., on a blind date. Soon after, on November 6, 1949, they married.
Mrs. Justice was Baptist. She and Oren had a wood crafting business and she loved to paint the crafts Oren would cut out.
Lavonne was a proud Army wife of 27 years. The Army allowed them to travel and see the world including: Germany, West Point, Washington, Fort Polk, and El Paso. After retirement she moved to Lufkin, Texas in 1991. In 2020, she moved to Cameron, Texas along with her son and daughter-in-law.
Mrs. Justice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Brenda Justice of Cameron, Texas; one grandson and his wife, Chris and Sara Justice of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one granddaughter and husband, Dawn and Michael Andrews of Cameron, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Hailey Justice of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Ally Andrews of Cameron, Texas; great-grandson, Jaxson Andrews of Cameron, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Oswego Cemetery in Oswego, Kansas.
